Tenuta Casuccio Tarletti
A typical stone cottage, structured on wide foundations, overlooks the hills around Siena, with red and green rows of vines drawing geometric forms in the countryside. This is the landscape you make out when getting closer to the Tenuta Casuccio Tarletti (Casuccio Tarletti Estate).
It is set in the middle of a legendary land, where Siena and Florence, during the middle ages, fought for the control of this precious part of Tuscany. The legend says that the two towns, weary for the continuous bloody struggles, decided to solve the question with a rather peculiar challenge: two knights left the respective towns at dawn, when the cock sang.
They traced the boundaries galloping towards each other till they met. Thanks to their Gallo Nero (Black Cock), which sang before the white cock of Siena, Florence managed to annex great part of this precious land, home of one of the most valuable ruby red wines with unmatchable scents.
Art and Wine
Art and wine have always represented an ideal union, two adjacent worlds whose interpenetration mutually enhances the well-being of the senses that both can give.
On the grounds of the Casuccio Tarletti Estate, all of this is a daily reality, thanks to the company’s initiative to host one of the works of the Chianti Sculpture Park, a circuit of contemporary art.
The vegetation, the light, the atmospheric peculiarities of the day and of the seasons always give new aspects to the sculptures, as is typical for environmental art.
Since its inauguration in 2004, the park has opened 13 hectares to the public where you can now admire twenty-six installations and sculptures of contemporary art along a circuit of about 1 km, crossing different visions and styles thanks to the presence of artists from over twenty countries of the five continents.
